I Became King After Eating Monster Meat Gets 2027 TV Anime by WHITE FOX

A prince fearing assassination will bring his monster-hunting meals to animation! The official site opened October 9 with a teaser visual and announced a 2027 TV anime of Daken’s light novel *I Became King After Eating Monster Meat*.

An Accidental Rise

The protagonist is Mars, a prince of the Farune Kingdom. Because his meals are poisoned, he hunts monsters in the forest outside the castle and survives on their meat. One night, a red-haired woman carrying a greatsword appears and declares that Mars will become her apprentice.

From there, he climbs toward becoming the strongest king, despite wanting nothing of the sort. The official site describes the work as a fantasy about a hero with an extraordinary appetite.

Staff and Creator Comments

WHITE FOX, known for the *Re:ZERO* series, produces the animation. Original novel illustrator Shiba created the initial character designs. The cast is still listed as “COMING SOON.”

The official site includes celebratory messages from Daken, Shiba, and manga adaptation artist Karin Suzuragi. Daken said this was the first series he posted to Shosetsuka ni Naro and that it initially attracted very few readers.
