Weekly Shonen Magazine’s Yumeneko Connect Gets TV Anime with Yusuke Kobayashi and Yu Shinohara

That famously outrageous Weekly Shonen Magazine manga is unexpectedly becoming an anime! Ko Sawada’s *Yumeneko Connect* is getting a TV adaptation. A teaser video is out on the official SHOCHIKU anime channel, and the new official site lists the cast and staff.

A Lonely Student and an Alien Salesgirl

Yuhi Takamiya missed his first day of high school due to illness and ended up alone. Then Nano, a girl from the planet Pokotsun, arrives from space. To grant his wish for friends, she pitches bizarre products from her world. Their effects quickly make Yuhi’s school life much noisier.

Yusuke Kobayashi plays Yuhi and Yu Shinohara plays Nano. Sota Yokote directs, Juokuemon Ichikawa handles series composition and scripts, Yoshihiro Watanabe designs the characters, and STUDIO MASSKET produces the animation.

The Creators Speak

The official site has comments from the cast, staff, and original creator. Kobayashi’s first reaction was “Seriously?!” Sawada said his first response to the adaptation news was concern rather than delight.

A broadcast window and stations have not yet been announced. Volume 10 of the original manga arrives Friday, October 16.
