Weekly Shonen Jump’s Nue’s Exorcist Gets TV Anime for Summer 2027

The secret room at Kita High will finally open in animation! Weekly Shonen Jump manga *Nue’s Exorcist* is receiving a TV anime to air summer 2027 on the TV Asahi network nationwide. The official site announced it October 12, and Jump Channel released a teaser video.

The Story

Protagonist Gakuro Yajima is a high school student who has seen beings called “phantom spirits” since childhood. So kindhearted that he even runs errands for others, he meets Nue, a spirit who loves pop culture, in a room at school that no one else knows about.

The official site says Nue has been sealed there for 60 years, waiting for someone to find her. Kota Kawae’s manga has run since May 2023. This school-set dark fantasy follows a boy’s growth through supernatural battles.

Cast and Staff

Kai Miura plays Gakuro, Saori Onishi plays Nue, and Sayumi Suzushiro plays Nanasa Suo, one of Kita High’s “three heavenly girls.” Miura said in a comment that this is his first time playing an anime protagonist.

Hiroyuki Hashimoto of *Is the Order a Rabbit?* directs, Koji Seko handles series composition, Shumpei Mochizuki designs the characters, Takayuki Yamaguchi is sound director, MONACA composes the music, and Studio Hibari produces the animation.
