A detective and his beloved Jimny will race across Iceland in 2027! The TV anime of Aki Irie’s manga *Go with the Clouds, North-by-Northwest* will air on TBS from 2027 and stream exclusively worldwide on Netflix.

The official site announced the plans October 8 alongside the lead cast and key visual. TBS Anime’s official YouTube channel released the first promotional video that evening.

A 17-Year-Old Detective Who Talks to Cars

The story takes place in Iceland at 64 degrees north. Japanese teenager Kei Miyama lives at his grandfather’s house and earns money as a detective. His three secrets: he can talk to cars, he struggles around girls, and he is a detective. From missing dogs to missing people, he takes on varied cases in a coming-of-age mystery.

The key visual shows Kei looking ahead against Iceland’s broad landscape, in a composition recalling the first manga volume’s cover.

Cast and Staff

Tomohiro Ono plays Kei Miyama. In a comment on the official site, Ono described Kei as aloof at first glance but too kind to ignore someone in trouble, with a more age-appropriate charm when faced with his favorite food, meat.

Takashi Sano is chief director and handles series composition; Yosuke Kubo directs; Chikai Kubota designs the characters; and Qzil.la produces the animation. Irie said she hopes newcomers to the work enjoy it too.

I’m sure it will take you to Iceland.
