The vampire king of the red rose awakens in animation. A TV anime adaptation of The Record of a Fallen Vampire, the manga by Kyo Shirodaira and Yuri Kimura, will air in 2027, the official anime site and Pony Canyon’s official YouTube channel announced.
A thousand years of love and revenge
Rose-Red Strauss is the last king of the Night Kingdom, destroyed a millennium ago. To recover his beloved wife Adelheid, who was sealed away by humans, he keeps fighting the dhampirs hunting him and the vampire-killing Black Swan.
The truth of what happened a thousand years ago slowly emerges through those battles. The teaser begins by asking why the “supreme king” became everyone’s enemy.
Cast and staff
Yuma Uchida voices Strauss. Aino Shimada voices Bridget Irving Frostheart, leader of the dhampirs. Comments from both actors are on the official site.
Mankyu directs and handles series composition, jimao designs the characters, and Evan Call composes the music. Zero-G and Liber produce the animation together.
The nine-volume manga is complete and published under Square Enix’s Gangan Comics imprint, so readers can finish it before broadcast.
