Apocalypse Stagnation Committee anime project announced

A school life spent defending the world with enormous guns is headed for animation. An anime adaptation project is underway for the Dengeki Bunko series Apocalypse Stagnation Committee, KADOKAWA said in a press release following its announcement at Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026 powered by ABEMA on October 3.

Lively days spent fighting apocalypse

The world is quietly approaching destruction through unknown, uncountable “apocalypses”: a strange creature lurking in Shinobazu Pond in Ueno, for example, or a huge snail clinging to the Eiffel Tower. The boys and girls who fight these threats cannot stop or eradicate them; they hold them in check.

The protagonist, a former mafia errand boy who yearns for an ordinary life, plunges into school life with these companions.

Source series and congratulations

Kien Aien writes the series, illustrated by Ogi Pote. Six novel volumes and two manga volumes are available. Dengeki Bunko posted an anime announcement trailer with the news.

For Ogi Pote, this is also the first anime adaptation of a work they illustrated. The format and release timing remain to be announced.
